WS-C2960S-48LPS-L is a Cisco Catalyst 2960-S switch with 48 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, 4 SFP uplinks and the LAN Base software feature set. Cisco lists 370 W of available PoE power: up to 30 W on 12 ports or up to 15.4 W on 24 ports.
The data sheet gives a forwarding rate of 77.4 mpps for this model and a weight of 5.7 kg. FlexStack stacking is optional; the FlexStack module stacks up to four 2960-S switches with 20 Gbps of stack throughput.
Cisco announced the end of sale and end of life of the 2960-S Series on November 6, 2014. The end-of-sale date was November 5, 2016, the end of service contract renewal date February 4, 2020, and the last date of support November 30, 2020.
The end-of-life notice names WS-C2960X-48LPS-L, the Catalyst 2960-X 48 GigE PoE 370W with 4 x 1G SFP and LAN Base, as the replacement product.
For LAN Base (-L) models the data sheet lists 88 Gbps of forwarding bandwidth, 176 Gbps of switching bandwidth, 255 active VLANs, 128 MB DRAM and 64 MB flash. Cisco states that the 2960-X Series provides a direct replacement for each 2960-S Gigabit Ethernet model.

The end-of-life notice names WS-C2960X-48LPS-L as the replacement; WS-C2960S-24PS-L is a 24-port 2960-S in Cisco Catalyst 2960, 3850 and 9300 spare parts.
