GPP63 is a Dell 24 TB 3.5-inch hard drive at 7,200 rpm, built by Seagate as model ST24000NM007H and formatted 512e, without self-encryption. It is the largest drive in this group of Dell support matrices. Dell lists it for PowerVault ME5 Series arrays, the ME52 Series and the MD2412 and MD2460 enclosures in the MD24 family. ME5 systems accept only SAS drives, so the ME5 listing confirms the SAS interface.
Dell's matrices give different firmware levels for this drive depending on the enclosure, so check the matrix for your specific array before installation rather than relying on the firmware already on the drive. For the MD2412 and MD2460, Dell notes that the enclosures run at the speed the current drives support, 12 Gbps, even with a 24 Gbps adapter.
The same Seagate ST...NM007H model line appears at lower capacities in Dell's ME4 matrix: FN7VR is the 12 TB ST12000NM007H and R0G8W the 16 TB ST16000NM007H. Choose GPP63 to maximise capacity per bay, for example in a 12-bay 3.5-inch enclosure where bay count is the limit.
To confirm fit, read the Seagate model and the Dell part number on the label, and check that your array or enclosure lists GPP63 in its Dell support matrix.
