SFP-H10GB-CU3M is the Cisco 3 meter passive 10GBASE-CU SFP+ cable, a twinax copper assembly built from 30AWG cable. Each end is an SFP+ plug, and Cisco follows IEEE 802.3 and the SFP+ MSA SFF-8431 for its passive twinax cables.
Cisco rates it at 1 W per module and the commercial (COM) temperature range, 0 to 70 C (32 to 158 F). The bail latch is orange, which is how this length is told apart from the others: the 1 m cable is beige, 1.5 m black, 2 m brown, 2.5 m yellow and 5 m gray.
Cisco's passive family runs from 1 m to 5 m. The 3 m cable and the shorter ones use 30AWG, while the 5 m SFP-H10GB-CU5M uses thicker 24AWG. Longer runs use the active cables SFP-H10GB-ACU7M (7 m) and SFP-H10GB-ACU10M (10 m).
Cisco gives no digital optical monitoring for the copper cables, which only apply to its optical modules, and it points to its compatibility matrix for the devices that accept each cable.
More cables and optics are in the Cisco modules and optics category, including the SFP-10G-SR 10GBASE-SR SFP and the SFP-10G-LR-S 10GBASE-LR SFP.
