Cisco QSFP-DD Coherent DCO Transceiver Module, 400G-ZR+

QDD-400G-ZRP-S is the Cisco QSFP-DD transceiver module, coherent DCO, 400G-ZR+. It complies with the OpenZR+ MSA and supports full C-band tunability. Cisco positions this ZR+ variant for the longest distances, from regional to long haul, with multiple amplification sites.

It carries several line rates. At 400G it uses 16-QAM at about 60 Gbaud, at 300G it uses 8-QAM at about 60 Gbaud, and at 200G it uses QPSK at about 60 Gbaud, with 8-QAM at about 40 Gbaud and 16-QAM at about 30 Gbaud also available with TX shaping only. At 100G it uses QPSK at about 30 Gbaud. All modes use oFEC. Client configurations are 400GE, 4x100GE, 3x100GE and 2x100GE.

Cisco gives maximum transmit power as -8.0 dBm typical and -10.0 dBm worst case at 400G without TX shaping, and -11.0 and -13.0 dBm with TX shaping. Receiver sensitivity at a 1 dB OSNR penalty is -12 dBm at 400G, -15 dBm at 300G, -18 dBm at 200G QPSK and -20 dBm at 100G. Maximum receive power is 13 dBm.

Chromatic dispersion robustness is +/-13,000 ps/nm by default and configurable up to +/-52,000 ps/nm, and DGD robustness is 60 ps. Roundtrip latency is 4.7 microseconds for 400GE, 5.2 for 4x100GE, 6.0 for 3x100GE and 6.9 for 2x100GE, and MTBF is 442,477 hours.
