CISCO2821 is the Cisco 2821 Integrated Services Router in a 2RU chassis. It has two onboard 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, one console port and one auxiliary port, and it cannot be wall mounted.
Four slots take HWIC, WIC, VIC or VWIC interface cards, and one slot takes an NM, NME or NME-X network module. The 2821 adds an Extension Voice Module (EVM) slot and has three PVDM (DSP) slots, plus two onboard AIM slots. DRAM is 256 MB by default and expands to 1 GB, with 64 MB of Compact Flash by default.
Hardware encryption for DES, 3DES and AES (128, 192 and 256 bit) is onboard and does not use an AIM slot; the AIM-VPN/EPII-PLUS adds enhanced VPN and compression. The router ships with Cisco IOS IP Base, minimum release 12.3(8)T.
Power input is 100 to 240 VAC autoranging at 47 to 63 Hz, with a DC option of 24 to 60 VDC. The AC-IP supply provides 240 W of in-line power for IP phones, and the Cisco RPS-675 connects to the built-in redundant power connector. Power dissipation without IP phones is 280 W on AC.
