DS-C9148S-D12PSK9 is the Cisco MDS 9148S 16G Multilayer Fabric Switch with 12 enabled ports and 12 x 16G SW SFP+ transceivers shipped installed in the port cages. The chassis is a fixed 48-port, 1 RU unit, and this base configuration switches on 12 of the ports.
Ports autosense at 2, 4, 8 and 16 Gbps, with 16 Gbps of dedicated bandwidth per port. More ports are enabled in 12-port steps, up to 24, 36 or 48, with the M9148S-PL12 On-Demand Activation license. The Enterprise package M9100ENT1K9 and Cisco Prime DCNM SAN Advanced Edition (DCNM-SAN-M91-K9) are licensed per switch and are not included with the base unit.
Two hot-swappable, redundant 300 W AC power supplies take 100 to 240 V AC input at 50 to 60 Hz. Airflow runs back to front, toward the ports. The chassis measures 1.72 x 17.16 x 16.34 in (4.37 x 43.59 x 41.50 cm) and mounts in a standard 19-inch EIA rack.
The same 12-port base also exists as DS-C9148S-12PK9 without optics and as DS-C9148S-D12P8K9 with 12 x 8G SW SFP+, and DS-C9148S-K9= is the 12-port spare. The 12-port MDS 9148S unit DS-C9148S-K9 is a related model.
