V3-VS15-600 is an EMC 600 GB disk with a 6Gb SAS interface, 15,000 rpm spindle and 3.5-inch form factor, listed for the VNX5100 and VNX5300 in EMC's Disk and OE Matrix P/N 300-012-417. The NEBS model is N3-VS15-600, and the entry includes a 15-disk version.
The matrix sets minimum software at VNX OE for Block 05.31.000.5.006 and VNX OE for File 7.0.12.0.
An IMPORTANT note in this entry adds that EMC names 005050854 and 005050855 as the preferred break-fix replacement parts for this model. When a VNX5100 or VNX5300 needs a single replacement 600 GB 15K drive, those are the EMC part numbers to match on the carrier label.
EMC states at the start of the matrix that disks require each storage processor to run a minimum VNX OE revision, and that the revision can be checked in Unisphere before a drive goes in.
In the VNX5500, VNX5700 and VNX7500 matrix the matching model is VX-VS15-600.
For capacity rather than speed, the 3.5-inch 4 TB 7.2K drive is V3-VS07-040; for 2.5-inch slots, the 900 GB 10K drive is V3-2S10-900.
Fit check: check the array is a VNX5100 or VNX5300 on Block OE 05.31.000.5.006 or later, and compare the carrier label with 005050854 or 005050855.
