V3-VS15-300 is an EMC disk drive model for the VNX5100 and VNX5300 storage systems: 300 GB, 6Gb SAS interface, 15,000 RPM, 3.5-inch form factor. It is listed in the EMC VNX5100 and VNX5300 Series Storage Systems Disk and OE Matrix (P/N 300-012-417).
The matrix gives a NEBS-compliant model of the same drive as N3-VS15-300, and also lists a 15-disk pack under the same model entry.
For this drive the matrix sets minimum operating environment levels: VNX OE for Block 05.31.000.5.006 and VNX OE for File 7.0.12.0. It shows the drive as supported in both the VNX5100 and the VNX5300, including for break-fix replacement.
EMC states at the top of the matrix that disks must be qualified for a given VNX system and OE release to function properly in it.
Fit check: check your array is a VNX5100 or VNX5300 and that its Block OE is at least 05.31.000.5.006 before installing the drive.
This EMC drive is a 300 GB 15K 3.5-inch SAS disk for the VNX5100 and VNX5300; more VNX drives are in Dell Storage Array Hard Drives (VNX, Compellent).
