Among the 100 GB drives on these pages, this one has the widest backward wording, Gen7 or earlier. The spare record names no carrier and no quick-release mount, which separates it from 730051-B21, the QR version, and from 691862-S21, the SmartDrive-carrier version that HPE lists for Gen8 and beyond.
PartSurfer's where-used list for the spare has three entries: the standard 100GB 6G SATA ME 2.5in EM drive, a variant listing, and a ProLiant DL560 Gen8 server configuration (a ProLiant DL560 Gen8 configuration). That entry is the only server named, and Gen8 sits outside the record's Gen7-or-earlier wording, so read it as one specific configuration rather than a general approval.
