757345-B21 is a 1.6TB SATA solid state drive in the 2.5-inch small form factor. PartSurfer maps the option to spare 757383-001, described as quick release carrier (QR), value endurance (VE) with power loss protection (PLP), supporting select Gen9, Gen8 and Gen7.
It is the quick-release counterpart of the SmartDrive 1.6TB drive. The capacity and tier are the same; what changes is the tray, and with it the group of servers that take the drive. Check which tray your server's bays use before ordering.
The support text is select Gen9, Gen8 and Gen7, which means named models, not whole generations. Check the exact server model's drive support list; a Gen8 or Gen9 server that expects SmartDrive trays needs its bay type checked before a QR tray is ordered.
At 1.6TB the drive is a data tier: virtual machine storage or a read-heavy database. PLP protects cached writes in a power cut, but value endurance is not meant for a heavy write load.
