C1000-8P-2G-L is a compact Cisco Catalyst 1000 switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports and two combo uplinks, each usable as an SFP or an RJ-45 port. Cisco lists a PoE budget of 67 W.
The switch is fanless and weighs 1.55 kg. Cisco rates the 8-port models at 10 Gbps of forwarding bandwidth (20 Gbps switching) and 14.88 Mpps of forwarding rate.
It shares the platform design of the series: an 800 MHz ARM v7 CPU, 512 MB of DRAM, 256 MB of flash and a 16,000-entry MAC table, with a web interface for setup. As a Gigabit model it can join a stack of up to eight Catalyst 1000 switches over its uplinks.
Cisco also supports Bluetooth console access through a USB dongle on the series. The 8-port model with an external power supply and a 120 W PoE budget is C1000-8FP-E-2G-L.
Fit check: 67 W supports only a few PoE+ devices at full 30 W draw; check the total before connecting access points or cameras.
The 8-port model with an external supply and 120 W budget is C1000-8FP-E-2G-L; C1000-24FP-4X-L is a 24-port model in Cisco Catalyst Switches (9300, 3650, 2960-X, 1000).
