A4986A is the HP C3000 workstation. The useful facts for a buyer are the spares HPE lists under this number, summarised below.
Storage: HPE lists hot-swap Ultra160 LVD SCSI hard drive modules at 10,000 rpm, 3.5-inch with an 80-pin SCA connector, in 18GB (A6537-69001, -69002, -69003 and -69750) and 36GB (A6538-69001, -69002, -69003) sizes. The disk backplane is listed under this machine as A4986-89003. A 48X CD-ROM (232320-001) and a 1.44MB 3.5-inch floppy (D2035-60282) are also listed.
Memory: the machine uses SDRAM DIMMs, which PartSurfer lists as 128MB (A3860-69001), 256MB (A3862-69001) and 512MB (A3863-69001). Match the DIMM part number rather than only the capacity, because HP numbered each size separately.
Peripherals: USB keyboards (for example A7861-65443) and USB optical mice (such as 573259-001) are listed.
