03GX464 Lenovo ThinkSystem RAID 940-16i 4GB Flash PCIe Gen4 12Gb Adapter

03GX464 is the Lenovo spare part number for the ThinkSystem RAID 940-16i 4GB Flash PCIe Gen4 12Gb Adapter, a RAID adapter. It is also sold as option 4Y37A78600, feature code BM35, and the Tri-Mode feature code for the same option is BM36.

The adapter is built on a Broadcom SAS3916 controller, equivalent to the MegaRAID 9560-16i 4G, with a PCIe 4.0 x8 host interface and 12 Gb SAS port interface. It is a low profile card with 16 ports on two x8 SFF-8654 connectors and takes up to 16 hot-swap SAS, SATA or NVMe U.3 devices, either HDD, SED or SSD, using a x1 connection for each NVMe drive. Cache is 4GB, standard, with CacheVault cache protection with flash. RAID levels are 0, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6 and 60, with a JBOD (non-RAID) mode, up to 240 virtual drives per controller and a stripe size up to 1 MB.

Performance Accelerator (FastPath) and SED support (SafeStore) are included on 03GX464. It accepts 512e, 512n and 4K sector drives, supports UNMAP on SAS SSDs and TRIM on SATA SSDs in JBOD, and does not support CacheCade. The 940-16i 8GB sibling is option 4Y37A09730 (feature code B8NZ).
