Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 V4 Performance Fan Option Kit

4H47A96817 is the ThinkSystem SR630 V4 Performance Fan Option Kit, feature code C1YT. It supplies the Performance fan type for the 1U ThinkSystem SR630 V4, which uses up to eight 40 mm hot-swap variable-speed fans.

The fans are 2-in-1 modules, each with two fans side by side. Performance fans are dual-rotor and run at 28K RPM. The Standard fan option, 4H47A96816, uses single-rotor 28K RPM fans, and the Ultra fan option, 4H47A96818, uses dual-rotor 31K RPM fans.

The server needs three fan modules, six fans, when one processor is installed and four modules, eight fans, when two processors are installed. The server offers N+1 rotor redundancy, and fan types cannot be mixed, so all modules in a server must be the same type.

Fan selection depends on the server configuration and the ambient temperature requirement. Performance fans are required with a passively cooled GPU, such as the NVIDIA L4, and may be required with certain network adapters, including some high-speed InfiniBand and Ethernet cards. With the front 10x 2.5-inch backplane and a rear 2x 2.5-inch NVMe backplane, a processor TDP above 300 W together with the high-performance fan limits ambient temperature to 25 °C or lower.
