ASR1KX-AC-750W-R is the 750 W AC power supply module for the Cisco ASR 1001-HX router, with plug-side exhaust airflow and an input range of 85 to 264 V AC. The ASR 1001-HX moves air front to rear, and every power supply and fan module installed must use the same airflow direction or the router can overheat and shut down.
Two modules run as a 1+1 redundant pair. When one fails or is removed, the other powers the chassis, so a module can be swapped without interrupting router functions. The module has no input switch on its faceplate; the chassis power switch moves it from Standby to On. A spare unit carries the PID ASR1KX-AC-750W-R=.
The ASR 1002-HX uses a different supply, ASR1000X-AC-750W, that looks identical to the ASR1KX-AC-750W-R. The two must not be mixed or swapped, so the ASR1KX-AC-750W-R belongs only in an ASR 1001-HX. The full product name is Cisco ASR 1001-HX Router power supply module with plug-side exhaust airflow, A/C, 750W, 85-264V.
