"Dell part number 3PR5C identifies a 480GB 2.5-inch solid-state drive built on the Toshiba KPM5XVUG480G. Dell's PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series Support Matrix lists 3PR5C in Table 9 (supported physical disk drive models) as a 2.5-inch 480GB SSD, Toshiba model KPM5XVUG480G, non-SED, firmware B01C.
The PowerVault MD32XX/MD36XX Series Support Matrix lists the same part number and model, also non-SED, with firmware B018. Dell's PowerVault ME484 JBOD support matrix (Rev. A10) also lists 3PR5C, model KPM5XVUG480G, as a 480GB 2.5-inch 12GB SSD, non-SED, with firmware B026.
Dell's MD34XX/38XX support matrix states that only physical disk drives with a Dell EMC part number listed in its Table 9 are supported; other drives bought with a different part number are not. The same matrix notes that MD34/MD38 arrays can use 12 Gbps HDDs or SSDs but negotiate them to 6 Gbps, and that encrypted SSDs (SED-SSD) and 4Kn sector drives are not supported.
Fit check: a Dell PowerVault MD32xx/MD36xx or MD34xx/MD38xx array (or other Dell system whose support matrix lists 3PR5C), and 3PR5C or the Toshiba model KPM5XVUG480G on the drive label. Related Dell part numbers: WFGTH (960GB) and X8HTD (3.2TB)."
