ST9300605SS, the Seagate drive under Dell part number 745GC, is the 300GB standard model in the Savvio 10K.5 SAS family. The 900, 600 and 450 GB siblings are the ST9900805SS, ST9600205SS and ST9450405SS, and the self-encrypting 300GB version is the ST9300505SS.
At 300GB the drive carries two read/write heads on 10K media, with 3.0 ms average rotational latency. The data buffer is 64MB, of which about 30,000KB acts as cache. SAS runs at 6Gb/s, or 600 MB/s per port, and sustained transfer is 89 to 160 MiB/s. Logical blocks of 512 (default), 520, 524 or 528 bytes can be formatted.
MTBF is 2,000,000 hours at a 0.44 percent annualized failure rate, and the interface error rate is below 1 in 10^12 bits. The 300GB models weigh 0.465 lb (0.211 kg), and the drive meets its operating specifications over a 5 to 55 C case temperature range.
