MWGK7 is the Dell part number for a 960GB 2.5 inch SAS SSD with Toshiba model number PX05SRB096Y, the Sanitize Instant Erase model of a read-intensive PX05SR drive. The series suits web servers, data warehousing, media streaming and video on demand.
MLC flash sits behind a SAS-3 interface at 12.0 Gbit/s, which also runs at 6.0, 3.0 and 1.5 Gbit/s. At 960 GB the drive sustains 1,800 MiB/s on 64 KiB sequential reads and 850 MiB/s on sequential writes, with 270,000 IOPS on 4 KiB random reads and 19,000 IOPS on random writes. Endurance is one drive write per day under 100 percent random writes, and MTTF is 2,000,000 hours.
Power-loss protection, full data path protection with T10 DIF and pin-3 power disable are included, along with a tunable setting that favours either maximum performance or power efficiency. Typical power is 3.2 W from 5 V and 12 V supplies. The case is 15.0 mm tall, 69.85 mm wide and up to 100.45 mm long, with a 150 g maximum weight.
The 480GB drive of the same series is the JGXK2, the previous-generation 960GB drive is the 4KG4X.
