PRNR6 is the Dell part number for a 6TB 3.5 inch SAS hard drive built on the Seagate ST6000NM0034. In the Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD v4 family this is the standard 5xxE (512 emulation) model of the 6TB capacity; the 4KN counterpart is the ST6000NM0014 and the self-encrypting 5xxE model is the ST6000NM0054.
Twelve read/write heads serve 7,200 rpm platters, giving a 4.16 ms average rotational latency. The 128MB buffer has roughly 60,000 KB working as cache. Sustained transfer is 100 to 216 MiB/s, and the 12Gb/s dual-port SAS interface moves 1200 MB/s per port. Logical blocks of 512, 520, 524 or 528 bytes can be chosen.
The rated MTBF is 2,000,000 hours at a 0.44 percent annualized failure rate. Nonrecoverable read errors are held to 1 per 10^15 bits read, and the 6TB model weighs 1.720 lb (780 g).
