Dell part R749K is a 450GB 3.5-inch 15K rpm SAS hard drive built on the Seagate ST3450857SS. Dell's PowerVault MD34XX/38XX support matrix lists it with model ST3450857SS, capacity 450GB, speed 15K, SED No and firmware ES68.
Seagate's Cheetah 15K.7 data sheet lists the ST3450857SS as the standard 450GB model, with a 6Gb/s SAS interface, 16MB cache and 15K rpm; the self-encrypting version is the ST3450757SS.
Dell marks this 3.5-inch 15K drive as not supported in the dense MD3460, MD3860i and MD3860 enclosures. Dell's MD3200/MD3200i support matrix also lists R749K with the same model.
Fit check: compare the model and firmware on your installed drives with ST3450857SS and ES68, and check that the Dell part number on the label appears in Dell's matrix for your array.
This is the Seagate Cheetah-based 450GB at 15K; if your array lists a different model, compare T857K and R752K in Dell PowerEdge Server Hard Drives (SAS, NL-SAS).
