This PN provides one 3.5 inch Large Form Factor (LFF) 10TB Hot Swappable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM HDD (Hard Disk Drive) This Dell YF87J drive is compatible with the Dell EMC PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series.
Compatibility and specifications
YF87J is the Seagate ST10000NM0256 in three Dell PowerVault documents: 10 TB, 7.2K, 3.5-inch, non-SED, with firmware TT55 in the MD34XX/38XX matrix (Rev. A25), TT54 in the MD32XX/36XX matrix (Rev. A24), and an entry in the MD3060e enclosure matrix. The other 10 TB part on our site, HV5CH, is a different Seagate model (ST10000NM0598, firmware RSL2) that Dell lists only for MD34XX/38XX arrays. Dell's array rules recommend RAID 6 or a Dynamic Disk Pool for drives of 6 TB and larger, and a hot spare must be equal to or larger than any member disk in its group.
