This PN provides one 3.5 inch Large Form Factor (LFF) 8TB Hot Swappable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM HDD (Hard Disk Drive) This Dell VFP4M drive is compatible with the Dell EMC PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series.
Compatibility and specifications
Dell's MD34XX/38XX support matrix (Rev. A25, Table 9) lists VFP4M as the Seagate ST8000NM0185: 8 TB, 7.2K, 3.5-inch, non-SED, firmware PT54. VFP4M is not in the MD32XX/36XX or MD3060e matrices, so its documented fit is the MD34XX/38XX family: the 12-bay MD3400, MD3800i and MD3800f and the dense MD3460, MD3860i and MD3860f. At 8 TB it falls under Dell's recommendation to use RAID 6 or a Dynamic Disk Pool for drives of 6 TB and larger.
