This PN provides one 3.5 inch Large Form Factor (LFF) 6TB Hot Swappable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM HDD (Hard Disk Drive) This Dell PYM8J drive is compatible with the Dell EMC PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series.
Compatibility and specifications
PYM8J is the HGST Ultrastar 7K6000 HUS726060AL5214. In HGST's model key, 52 means 512e SAS 12Gb/s, 1 a 128 MB buffer and the final 4 Secure Erase (overwrite only), so it is not a TCG self-encrypting model. HGST rates the 6 TB model at 7,200 RPM, 227 MB/s typical sustained transfer and 2.0 million hours MTBF. Dell lists PYM8J with firmware KK34 in the MD34XX/38XX (Rev. A25) and MD32XX/36XX (Rev. A24) matrices and also in the MD3060e enclosure matrix; Dell's notes exclude 4Kn drives from these arrays, which this 512e model is not, and recommend RAID 6 or a Dynamic Disk Pool for drives of 6 TB and larger.
