This PN provides one 3.5 inch Large Form Factor (LFF) 4TB Hot Swappable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM HDD (Hard Disk Drive) This Dell W5M2R drive is compatible with the Dell EMC PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series.
Compatibility and specifications
W5M2R maps to the Seagate ST4000NM0295 in Dell's MD34XX/38XX support matrix (Rev. A25): 4 TB, 7.2K, 3.5-inch, not self-encrypting, firmware DT34. The other 4 TB part on our site, XWM1W, is a different Seagate model (ST4000NM0005, firmware MS06) that Dell also lists for MD32XX/36XX arrays and the MD3060e, whereas W5M2R appears only in the MD34XX/38XX matrix. To confirm fit, match W5M2R on the label and the array model against that matrix; when it serves as a hot spare, Dell requires it to be equal to or larger than every member disk of the group.
