This PN provides one 3.5 inch Large Form Factor (LFF) 1TB Hot Swappable Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 7200 RPM HDD (Hard Disk Drive) This Dell 98XDP drive is compatible with the Dell EMC PowerVault MD34XX/38XX Series.
Compatibility and specifications
In Dell's MD34XX/38XX support matrix (Rev. A25, Table 9), 98XDP is the Seagate ST1000NM0085: 1 TB, 7.2K, 3.5-inch, not self-encrypting, firmware DT34. H0R8N is another Dell number for the same ST1000NM0085 and is also listed in the MD32XX/36XX and MD3060e matrices, while 98XDP is listed only for the MD34XX/38XX family, whose 3.5-inch models are the MD3400, MD3800i and MD3800f plus the dense MD3460, MD3860i and MD3860f. Before installing, check that the label reads 98XDP and compare the drive's firmware with DT34; Dell's array rules state that physical disk firmware can be upgraded online.
