EH970A is the HPE StoreEver LTO-6 Ultrium 6250 external tape drive. It connects over 6Gb/s dual-port SAS, and external HPE SAS drives use a Mini-SAS SFF8088 connector.
HPE rates the LTO-6 Ultrium 6250 generation at 2.5TB native and 6.25TB compressed capacity, assuming 2.5:1 compression. Sustained native transfer is 160 MB/s, or 400 MB/s compressed, with a 512MB buffer. Data rate matching runs from 54 to 160 MB/s native, and the burst rate is 600 MB/s over 6Gb/s SAS. Average load time is 24 seconds and average unload time is 19 seconds, with a typical 50 second data access time on LTO-6 media and a 98 second rewind from end of tape on a 2.5TB cartridge.
The drive reads and writes LTO-6 and LTO-5 media and reads LTO-4 media. HPE lists the LTO-6 Ultrium 6.25TB RW data cartridge as C7976A and the WORM cartridge as C7976W.
