The Cisco EPA-1X100GE is an Ethernet port adapter for the ASR 1000 family that uses a CPAK module to provide network connectivity. It presents a single 100GE port, numbered port 0, and sits in bay 2 of the Cisco ASR 1002-HX router. The ASR 1001-HX has no support for bay 2.
Three CPAK optics are supported. The CPAK-100G-SR10 carries 100 Gbps over 24-fiber ribbon cable with MPO/MTP connectors, reaching 100 m on laser-optimized OM3 and 150 m on OM4 multifiber cable, with OTN rates supported.
The CPAK-100G-LR4 carries 100 Gbps over standard G.652 single-mode fiber with SC connectors up to 10 km. It uses four WDM wavelengths at a nominal 25 Gbps per lane, complies with IEEE 802.3ba, supports OTU4 and draws under 5.5 W nominal.
The CPAK-100G-SR4 runs 100 Gbps over multimode fiber on four lanes in the 850 nm window with an MPO-12 connector, reaching 70 m on OM3 and 100 m on OM4 under IEEE 802.3ba. Each EPA carries an A/L LED, green when the port is enabled and the link is up and amber when the link is down, and a STATUS LED that is green when the adapter is ready and operational.
