IBM #5772 10 Gigabit Ethernet-LR PCI Express Adapter for 8202, 8205, 8231, 8233, 8412, 9117 and 9179

IBM feature #5772 is the 10 Gigabit Ethernet-LR PCI Express Adapter, CCIN 576E, for IBM Power Systems servers of machine types 8202, 8205, 8231, 8233, 8236, 8248, 8268, 8408, 8412, 9109, 9117 and 9179, and for the 5803 and 5873 expansion units. It is a low-profile, fiber network interface controller based on the dual port 82598EB 10 GbE controller. The product conforms to the IEEE 802.3 standard and supports standards for system manageability and power management.

The adapter conforms to the 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR specification for Ethernet transmissions over 1310 nm single-mode fiber optic cable for distances up to 10 kilometers. The connection is an LC receptacle with an activity/link LED, and the card needs a 9 micron single-mode fiber cable with LC connectors. Customers supply the cables. The adapter FRU number is 10N9034, and the LC fiber optic wrap plug that runs the total diagnostics package is FRU 12R9314, which is not included with the card.

The I/O bus is PCI-Express V1.1 and V2.0 (generation 1 only) with bus master support, and the form factor is short. Supported operating systems are AIX 7.1, AIX 6.1 and AIX 5.3 or later, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6 for POWER or later, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1 or later, and IBM i Version 7.2 or 7.1 or later. The AIX device driver package is devices.pciex.8680c71014108003.rte, and the device driver is provided for the AIX operating system.
