IBM feature #AH7L is a 7.68 TB 12 Gb SAS 3.5-inch flash drive for IBM FlashSystem machine types 2076, 4657, 9846 and 9848. The flash drives in this family are 2.5-inch SAS drives in 3.5-inch carriers. On the FlashSystem 7200 (2076) and the FlashSystem 7300 (4657) the drive is supported on expansion Model 92G only, with a maximum of 92. On the FlashSystem 9100 (9846 and 9848) it is supported on the LFF expansion Model A9F only, again with a maximum of 92.

The 92G is a 5U 19-inch rack-mount high-density enclosure, and up to 92 drives are top-loaded into its drive slots. On the 7200 it supports up to 92 LFF 2.5-inch high-density drives in a 3.5 inch carrier, formatted as RAID 5 or DRAID 6, while the 7300 92G formats its drives as DRAID 1 or DRAID 6. Up to eight 92G expansion enclosures are supported per FlashSystem 7200 control enclosure pair, which provides up to 736 SSD or HDD SAS drives. The A9F accepts SAS SSDs only, supports up to 92 drives formatted as RAID 5 or DRAID 6, and provides up to 736 drives per controller pair.

Each 2076-92G, 4657-92G, 9846-A9F or 9848-A9F expansion enclosure adds a value of 2.5 to the SAS chain weight; on the 7200 and 9100 a chain supports a total weight of 10, which allows four 92G or A9F enclosures per SAS chain. The 7.68 TB drive sits beside the 1.92 TB (#AH7J), 3.84 TB (#AH7K) and 15.36 TB (#AH7M) 12 Gb SAS 3.5-inch flash drives in the same enclosures, and the 7200 and 7300 also take the 30.72 TB (#AH7N) drive.
