IBM feature #ESJE is a 7.45 TB Mainstream SAS 4k SFF-3 solid-state drive for AIX and Linux, CCIN 5B2E. It is a 2.5-inch SAS drive in the Gen3 (SFF-3) carrier used by the internal drive bays of POWER9 servers, formatted with 4224-byte sectors, and it is a read intensive SSD. It is available on machine types 9008 (Power L922), 9009 (Power S922, S914 and S924), 9040 (Power E950) and 9223 (Power H922 and H924).
The maximum is 8 per system on the Power S922, L922, H922 and E950, and 18 on the Power S914, S924 and H924. Those counts follow the internal backplanes: #EJ1F and #EJ1G carry eight SFF-3 bays and #EJ1D carries eighteen.
The same 7.45 TB drive is orderable for IBM i as #ESJF. On the 9223 servers a 7.44 TB pair of codes, #ESJY for AIX and Linux and #ESJZ for IBM i, carries the same CCIN 5B2E. The replaceable part numbers for the 7450 GB, 4224-byte-sector read intensive SAS SSD are 01LU807, 01LU905, 02YC598, 02YC649, 02YC708 and 02YC847.
