The IE-2000-8TC-G-E is a Cisco Industrial Ethernet 2000 Series switch with ten ports: eight 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 copper downlinks and two Gigabit Ethernet combo ports that take either an SFP or an RJ-45 cable. It has no PoE and no SFP-only ports. The software is LAN Base, and the unit supports IEEE 1588.
Licence upgrades are available through Cisco IOS: LAN Base to Enhanced LAN Base with the L-IE2000-B-E= licence, and LAN Base or Enhanced LAN Base to IP Lite with LIC-IE2000-IP-L=. Memory is 256 MB of DRAM with ECC and 64 MB of on-board flash, and a removable 1 GB SD flash card is optional (SD-IE-1GB=).
The switch mounts on a DIN rail. A wall-mount kit for the 8-port models (Wallmount-IE2k-08=) and a 19-inch DIN rail kit (STK-RACK-DINRAIL=) are accessories. The chassis is 5.1 in high and 3.6 in wide including the DIN rail clip, and power consumption for 8-port models is 12.5 to 20 W.
The IE 2000 family is built to industrial standards including EN 61131-2, NEMA TS-2, EN 50155 for rail, DNV for marine, IEEE 1613 and IEC 61850-3 for substations, ODVA EtherNet/IP and PROFINET. Ingress protection is IP30, and Class 1 Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 approvals apply when the switch sits in a cabinet.
