IE-3200-8P2S-E is the Cisco Catalyst IE3200 fixed rugged switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet PoE/PoE+ ports and two 100/1000 SFP ports, supplied with the Network Essentials licence; the E in the part number denotes that licence. It mounts on a DIN rail.
The PoE budget is 240 W shared across the eight PoE ports, and it needs a power supply that meets Cisco's minimums. Power input is redundant dual DC, 9.6 to 60 VDC, with 48 VDC needed for PoE and 54 VDC for PoE+. Maximum input current is 5.5 A and power consumption is 32 W measured at 54 V, excluding PoE power.
Cisco gives line-rate forwarding on all ports and packet sizes, 16K unicast MAC addresses, 256 VLANs, 128 STP instances, 1K IGMP groups, 3K ACEs, 8 queues and jumbo frames of 8996 bytes. Memory is 2 GB of DRAM and 1.5 GB of user-accessible flash. The unit has RS-232 RJ-45 and USB Mini Type B consoles, two alarm inputs and one alarm output.
The enclosure is IP30, measures 6.0 x 3.6 x 5.3 in (15.2 x 9.1 x 13.5 cm) and weighs 3.8 lb (1.7 kg). Operating temperature runs from -40 to 70 C in a vented enclosure to -40 to 75 C with forced air, and storage is -40 to 85 C. Certifications include IEEE 1613, IEC/EN 61850-3 and Class I Division 2.
The IE-3200-8T2S-E has no PoE, a lower 8K MAC table and 23 W power consumption.
More rugged switches are in the Cisco switches category, such as the IE-3300-8P2S-E and the IE-3400-8P2S-E.
