C9500-16X-A is the Cisco Catalyst 9500 16-port 10G switch supplied with the Network Advantage licence. Its Network Essentials counterpart is C9500-16X-E. Cisco describes the Advantage tier as adding advanced routing, segmentation, multicast, scale and security to the foundational Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching of the Essentials tier.
The chassis has 16 fixed 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The base switch ships without an uplink module; Cisco lists C9500-NM-8X (eight 1/10G SFP/SFP+ ports) and C9500-NM-2Q (two 40G QSFP+ ports) as the optional network modules.
It is built on the UADP 2.0 ASIC, the only Catalyst 9500 model on that ASIC. Cisco gives up to 480 Gbps of switching capacity and up to 360 Mpps of forwarding, with 16 GB of DRAM and 16 GB of flash. Hardware scale reaches 64,000 MAC addresses, 64,000 IPv4 indirect routes, 80,000 IPv4 host routes and 4,094 VLAN IDs, with jumbo frames up to 9,198 bytes.
Power comes from PWR-C4-950WAC-R, a 950 W AC supply for 90 to 264 VAC input, or PWR-C4-950WDC-R, a 950 W DC supply. Cooling is the FAN-T4-R fan tray. The chassis weighs 23.6 lb (10.7 kg) with two power supplies and the built-in fan, and the minimum software is Cisco IOS XE 16.8.1.
More models are in the Cisco switches category, including the Catalyst 9500 48-port 25G switch with Network Advantage.
