The IE-3300-8T2X-E is a modular Catalyst IE3300 rugged switch built as 8 GE copper and 2 10G SFP with Network Essentials. Its 10 ports are 8 x 10/100/1000 RJ45 and 2 x 1G/10G SFP+. The -E hardware PID is the Network Essentials license tier.
There is no PoE on this model. It takes dual DC inputs across a redundant 9.6 to 60 VDC range, draws up to 4.5 A and consumes 28 W. Forwarding is line rate on all ports for all packet sizes.
Memory is 4 GB of DRAM and 1.5 GB of flash that users can access. An SD card of 4 GB or 16 GB and a USB drive are optional removable storage. The housing mounts on a DIN rail and measures 6 x 3.8 x 5.3 in (15.2 x 9.7 x 13.5 cm), weighing 3.6 lb (1.6 kg).
Cisco predicts an MTBF of 463,629 hours for the model, and the IE3300 family carries IEC 62443-4-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 industrial automation approvals. For the Network Advantage version of the same hardware, see IE-3300-8T2X-A.
