The ME-3400E-24TS-M is a 1 RU multilayer Ethernet access switch from the Cisco ME 3400E series. It has 24 Ethernet 10/100 ports and 2 dual-purpose uplink ports that work as 10/100/1000 copper or as SFP. It also has an Ethernet management console, 4 external alarm input contacts, and slots for field-replaceable power supplies and fan modules.
Forwarding is 6.5 mpps, with 8 Gbps of forwarding bandwidth. The ME 3400E series uses 128 MB of DRAM and 32 MB of flash. Two Cisco IOS feature images are available for the series, METROACCESS for Layer 2 and METROIPACCESS, which adds Layer 3 features.
Power modules accept 100 to 240 VAC (plus or minus 10 percent) at 50 to 60 Hz or 18 to 72 VDC. Consumption, typical and maximum, is 36 W and 40 W with one AC supply, 38 W and 54 W with two AC supplies, 38 W and 48 W with one DC supply, and 48 W and 72 W with two DC supplies. Heat output runs from 123 to 164 BTU per hour, depending on configuration.
The chassis measures 1.75 x 17.5 x 9.3 in (4.45 x 44.5 x 23.6 cm), or 9.8 in (24.9 cm) deep with an AC or DC power module fitted, and weighs 6.4 lb (2.9 kg). MTBF is 245,917 hours with one power supply and 462,163 hours with two.
