IE-4000-4GS8GP4G-E is a 16-port Cisco Industrial Ethernet 4000 Series switch with 4 Gigabit Ethernet SFP fiber ports, 8 Gigabit PoE/PoE+ copper ports and 4 Gigabit combo uplink ports. Each combo uplink pairs a copper and a fiber connector, and only one of the two can be active at a time. The 8 PoE/PoE+ ports share a maximum PoE budget of 125 W.
Power arrives on a redundant DC input, nominal 9.6 to 60 VDC, with a maximum input current of 4.3 A and a consumption of 40 W measured at 9.6 V without PoE. The compact chassis is DIN-rail compliant and measures 6.12 x 6.12 x 5.09 in (155.4 x 155.4 x 129.2 mm), at 6.35 lb (2.88 kg). It carries 1 GB DRAM, 128 MB onboard flash and a 1 GB removable SD flash card.
The default feature set is LAN Base, with IP Services as a paid upgrade, and the series supports CIP EtherNet/IP for industrial automation. MTBF is 536,220 hours. Cisco has announced end of sale for the IE 4000 Series and points to the Catalyst IE3300 and IE3400 Rugged switches as replacements, such as the IE-3300-8T2S-E.
