This ThinkSystem 2.5-inch PM1643a 3.84TB Entry SAS 12Gb hot-swap SSD is Lenovo feature code B91C (option 4XB7A17054). Lenovo Press describes the PM1643a family as Samsung drives on 64-layer V-NAND TLC, following the PM1643 with better random write performance.
Lenovo rates the 3.84TB drive at 1 drive write per day (7,008 TB written), 230,000 random read and 85,000 random write IOPS (4 KB), and 1,000 MBps sequential read and write.
Lenovo lists it for the first ThinkSystem generation (SR630, SR650, SR530, SR550, SR570, SR590, ST550, SR850, SR850P, SR860, SR950, SD530, SN550, SN850), the V2 servers ST650 V2, SR630 V2, SR650 V2, SR670 V2, SR850 V2 and SR860 V2, and the AMD SR635, SR655, SR645 and SR665. The larger 7.68TB 4XB7A17055 (B91D) has the same server list; the 15.36TB 4XB7A17056 (BC4R) drops the SR635, SR655, SR850P and ST550. Smaller sizes are 960GB 4XB7A38175 and 1.92TB 4XB7A38176, and 3.5-inch versions also exist.
Lenovo Press shows the PM1643a drives as withdrawn and names the PM1653 as their follow-on; the 3.84TB PM1653 is 4XB7A80320 (BNWF). To confirm fit, check the server against the list and make sure the bay is wired for SAS.
