00AJ445 Lenovo 480GB SATA 3.5in MLC HS Enterprise Value SSD

00AJ445 (feature code A57H) is the 480GB SATA 3.5" MLC HS Enterprise Value SSD, a 480GB solid-state drive in the 3.5-inch format and ships on a 3.5-inch hot-swap tray. The SBB number shown for it in Lenovo's options guide is 00AJ447.

These drives come from the Micron M500DC family and use Micron 20 nm MLC NAND on a 6 Gbps SATA link. Lenovo lists enterprise data path protection, wear leveling, SMART and support for MegaRAID CacheCade on supported ServeRAID controllers, with 0.5 ms read and 1.5 ms write latency and 2,000,000 hours MTBF.

The 480GB drive is rated at 1.9 PB written, 63,000 read IOPS, 35,000 write IOPS, 425 MBps sequential read, 375 MBps sequential write and 6 W typical power, according to Lenovo's specification table.

Endurance in this generation reaches up to 2.4 drive writes per day for five years. Lenovo positions the drives for read-intensive applications and mixed loads up to 70/30 read/write, such as web serving, caching, databases and analytics. The guide marks every drive in it as withdrawn from marketing.

According to the server support section, it installs in the x3500 M5 (5464), x3550 M5 (5463 and 8869), x3650 M5 (5462 and 8871), the x3630 M4 with E5-2400 v2 processors and the x3650 M4 BD (5466). Lenovo's Configuration and Options Guide of 17 January 2017 also lists it for the x3500 M5, x3550 M5 and x3650 M5.
