49Y4218 is Lenovo's QLogic 10Gb SFP+ SR Optical Transceiver for System x, feature code 0064, a short-reach multimode fiber module for the SFP+ cages on 10 Gb Ethernet adapters. Lenovo pairs it with the 49Y4219 SBB number and lists it as an option for the x3250 M5, x3550 M5, x3650 M5, x3750 M4, x3850/x3950 X6 and nx360 M5, among others.
Lenovo lists it as a supported transceiver for the Emulex VFA5.2 adapters (00AG560, 00AG570, 00AG580), the Emulex VFA5 family, the Intel X710 family including 01DA900, the Intel X520 adapter 49Y7960, and the QLogic 8200 VFA family including the embedded 90Y6454, at a maximum of one per adapter port. Lenovo notes that both ports of an X520 or X540 adapter must use the same type of transceiver or DAC cable.
Lenovo also lists two other SR optics for the same adapters: the Brocade 10Gb SFP+ SR, 49Y4216 (feature 0069), and the SFP+ SR transceiver 46C3447 (feature 5053). Adapters that take 49Y4218 include 00AG570 and 49Y7960, and more System x network parts are in the IBM and Lenovo networking parts.
