N9K-M4PC-CFP2 is the Nexus 9300 uplink module with four 100G CFP2 ports; Cisco describes it as "Uplink Module for Nexus 9300, 4p 100G CFP2". Cisco lists it for the N93128TX, N9396PX and N9396TX.
It provides up to four 100 Gigabit Ethernet ports, of which two are active on the N93128TX and four on the N9396PX and N9396TX. The ports take CFP2 optics, and Cisco CPAK 100G modules work through converters. Cisco states that the module offers 5 MB of additional buffer space for each port.
Cisco gives the N9396PX one uplink module slot, either this 4-port 100G module or the 12-port M12PQ. The uplink module is needed for normal operation of the N9K-C9396PX.
Lifecycle: Cisco announced end of life on August 31, 2016, with end of sale on March 1, 2017 and the last ship date on May 30, 2017. Software maintenance ended on March 1, 2018, and the last date of support was February 28, 2022. Cisco says there is no direct replacement module and points to the fixed Nexus 9300-EX switches with six QSFP28 ports. The spare number is N9K-M4PC-CFP2=.
