NCS-57B1-6D24-SYS is the Flexible Consumption Model base hardware PID for the Cisco NCS 5700 NCS-57B1 fixed chassis, a 1RU router with 6 ports of 400G and 24 ports of 100G, all QSFP-DD. Every port accepts QSFP28 optics, SFP+ optics need the optional QSA adapter, and the 6 x 400G and 12 x 100G top-row ports support ZR+/ZR optics and breakout, which disables the lower row of 100G ports. Console and management connect over RJ-45 ports.
System throughput is up to 4.8 Tbps, with full line-rate MACsec encryption on all ports depending on software. An integrated route processor runs Cisco IOS XR 64-bit software on an 8-core x86 CPU at 2.0 GHz, with 32 GB of system memory and a 128 GB SSD. IOS XR Release 7.3.1 or later is required.
Two hot-swappable 2 kW power supplies, PSU2KW-ACPI (AC) or PSU2KW-DCPI (48 V DC), run in a 1+1 pair with port-side air intake, and six hot-swappable NC57-B1-FAN1-FW fan trays cool the chassis n+1. Typical draw is 500 W at 25 C and maximum draw 610 W at 40 C, without optics. The chassis is 1.72 x 17.3 x 23.60 in (4.30 x 43.9 x 60.0 cm) and weighs 29.05 lb (13.18 kg) with fans and power supplies. The same chassis also carries the PIDs NCS-57B1-6D24-TRK for tracking and NCS-57B1-6D24H-S as the perpetual-license base.
