HPE P05174-B21 ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus 12LFF NC Configure-to-Order Server

HPE's DL380 Gen10 Plus QuickSpecs list P05174-B21 as the 12LFF Network Choice (NC) CTO server, a 2U chassis with twelve large form factor (3.5-inch) bays, 32 DIMM slots and a three-slot primary riser; processors are not included. It takes 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, and HPE states that all supported processors address up to 6 TB of memory each, that processors ship without heat sinks, and that field upgrades from 1st or 2nd Gen (x1xx, x2xx) parts to 3rd Gen are not supported. NC means no embedded networking: HPE requires an OCP 3.0 or stand-up adapter from its networking section as the primary network selection.

Storage starts with embedded software RAID on 14 SATA ports (12 accessible), with a modular Smart Array or PCIe plug-in controller as the upgrade path. The Gen10 Plus chassis table gives the 12LFF model no Universal Media Bay or optical drive; its listed add-ons are a 4LFF mid-plane and a rear 2SFF SAS/SATA cage. HPE ships the 12LFF chassis with six high-performance fans, which it also requires for rear-drive and NVMe configurations. There is no USB port as standard on the 12LFF model.

TAA-compliant ordering uses P05174-B21#GTA, and HPE Trusted Supply Chain (P36394-B21) builds the server in a secured US facility and rebrands it DL380T Gen10 Plus. The other NC chassis in the Gen10 Plus table are P05175-B21 (8LFF), P05172-B21 (8SFF), P05173-B21 (24SFF). To check fit, confirm the label reads DL380 Gen10 Plus, count the front bays (12LFF), and look for an empty network slot, since NC models have no onboard LAN.
