ST1200MM0088 is the 1.2TB 512 native standard model in the Seagate Enterprise Performance 10K HDD v8 SAS family. It is a 2.5-inch (SFF) drive that spins at 10,000 RPM with 2.9 ms average rotational latency, and it carries a 128MB data buffer with a 128-command task set.
The integrated dual-port SAS controller runs 3.0, 6.0 and 12.0 Gb/s, with 1200 MB/s per port and 2400 MB/s across both ports. For 512-native models, sustained transfer is 103 to 205 MiB/s (108 to 215 MB/s). Six heads read the platters at 328 ktracks/in and 1952 Kb/in, for an areal density of 619.85 Gb/in2. Logical block size can be set to 512, 520, 524 or 528 bytes, and up to 32 initiators and SAS expanders are supported.
MTBF is 2,000,000 hours, equal to a 0.44% annualized failure rate. The 1200GB 512 native build weighs 0.426 lb (193 g). The self-encrypting version of this model is ST1200MM0098, and the FIPS 140-2 version is ST1200MM0108.
