Seagate SkyHawk AI 16TB SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 3.5-Inch Hard Drive, ST16000VE000

ST16000VE000 is the 16TB standard 512E model of the Seagate SkyHawk AI SATA drive, built for NVRs and AI-enabled NVR systems. Its helium design uses 18 heads on 9 discs at an areal density of 1028 Gb/in2, and it spins at 7200 RPM with 4.16 ms average latency and a 256MB cache buffer. Logical sectors are 512 bytes on 4096-byte physical sectors.

Video features include support for up to 64 HD cameras with 32 AI channels, rotational vibration sensors and an unlimited bay count. Sustained transfer at the outer diameter is 250MB/s, the internal data transfer rate is 2833 Mb/s and the SATA link carries up to 600MB/s with Native Command Queuing and PowerChoice power savings.

Reliability limits are a 0.44% annualized failure rate at 8760 power-on hours, a workload of under 550TB per year and 300,000 load-unload cycles. Typical startup current is 2.0A at 12V, average operating power is 6.71W and idle power is 5.1W. The drive measures 26.11mm high, 101.85mm wide and 146.99mm deep, and weighs up to 670g (1.477 lb).
