The 24T-S is the 24-port data Catalyst 3850 with the IP Base feature set and a PWR-C1-350WAC power supply. It has 24 10/100/1000 ports without PoE. The WS-C3850-24T-E is the IP Services version, and the 24T-L runs LAN Base; Cisco offered a LAN Base to IP Base licence (C3850-24-L-S) for the 24-port models.
Uplink options for this model are the C3850-NM-4-1G and C3850-NM-2-10G modules.
Cisco rates the 24-port Gigabit models at 92 Gbps switching capacity and 68.4 Mpps. The switch holds 32,000 MAC addresses, 24,000 IPv4 routes (ARP plus learned), 24,000 Flexible NetFlow entries and 1000 SVIs, and has 4 GB DRAM and 2 GB flash. IP Base supports 1K VLANs, routed access and the mobility agent and controller roles for wireless (access point licences needed for the controller role).
StackWise-480 links up to nine 3850s at 480 Gbps, and StackPower shares supplies across the stack. It is 1.75 x 17.5 x 17.7 in and weighs 15.9 lb (7.2 kg). Cisco took last orders on October 30, 2020 and ended support on October 31, 2025; its end-of-sale notice points to the C9300-24T-A as the replacement.
Fit check: stack only with other IP Base 3850s; mixed feature sets are not supported.
The IP Services version is WS-C3850-24T-E, and C3850-NM-4-1G is one of the two uplink modules for this model; see Cisco Catalyst 2960, 3850 and 9300 spare parts.
