C9300-48UB-A is one of three higher-scale Catalyst 9300 models (24UB, 24UXB and 48UB), which Cisco offers for deeper buffers and higher scale. It has 48 Cisco UPOE copper ports, a modular uplink slot and Network Advantage.
Cisco gives the higher-scale Gigabit models a 32 MB packet buffer, against 16 MB on standard 9300 Gigabit models. Switching capacity is 256 Gbps (736 Gbps stacked) and forwarding 190.48 Mpps.
The PWR-C1-1100WAC-P supplied as standard gives 822 W of PoE. A second 350 W or 715 W supply raises that to 1,172 W or 1,537 W, and Cisco caps the 48UB at 1,800 W by design with an 1100 W or 1900 W second unit.
Stacking has one firm rule: Cisco says the higher-scale SKUs stack only with other higher-scale models, over StackWise-480. A 48UB cannot join a stack of C9300-48U or 9300X switches, so check the existing members before ordering.
C9300-48UB-E is the same switch with Network Essentials, and C9300-24UB-A is the 24-port higher-scale model on the same licence. Uplink modules for the slot are covered on our Catalyst 2960, 3850 and 9300 hub.
