A 24-port PoE+ switch from the Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series that pairs a 195 W PoE budget with 10G uplinks. It has 24 x 10/100/1000 copper ports with 802.3af and 802.3at (PoE+) and 4 x 10G SFP+ uplink ports.
Switching capacity is 128 Gbps, with a forwarding rate of 95.23 Mpps. It is fanless, so it suits open offices and classrooms where fan noise matters. Worst-case draw is 31.4 W at 110 V without PoE and 235.8 W at full PoE load; it weighs 3.95 kg and Cisco quotes an MTBF of 337,232 hours.
It is stackable: Cisco includes it in the 1300 models that can stack up to eight units and 400 ports over 10 Gigabit Ethernet fiber interfaces. Layer 3 features include IPv4 and IPv6 routing, RIP v2 and a DHCP server, and it is managed by web UI, CLI, SNMP or Cisco Business Dashboard.
Siblings: the C1300-24P-4G has the same 195 W PoE ports with 1G uplinks, no stacking and a 56 Gbps fabric; the C1300-24FP-4X raises the budget to 370 W but adds a fan.
Pick this model over the 4G version when the uplink to the core is 10G, or when switches in the closet will be stacked. The SFP+ cages take 10G optics or DAC cables, ordered separately.
