HPE PartSurfer lists P50219-B21 as the HPE 3.84TB NVMe Gen4 High Performance Read Intensive SFF BC U.3 PM1733a SSD, with spare P50956-001 (3.84TB NVMe RI BC U.3). PM1733a in the name identifies the drive model HPE sources for this SKU, so unlike HPE's Multi Vendor drives, every unit under this number is the same model.
The name lays out the fit. NVMe Gen4 means a PCIe 4.0 NVMe interface. U.3 means the drive works in HPE's U.3 TriMode backplanes, which carry SAS, SATA or NVMe on the same bay; as an NVMe drive it needs an NVMe-capable bay, not a SAS-only or SATA-only backplane. BC is the HPE Basic Carrier used in Intel Gen10 Plus and Gen11 SFF bays. High Performance is HPE's upper NVMe tier, above Mainstream Performance; HPE positions it for high performance and low latency. Read Intensive is the lower-endurance class for read-heavy work.
P50219-B21 has been removed from HPE's current SSD QuickSpecs, so its endurance and speed ratings are no longer published there. The current models closest to it are P78806-B21 (3.84TB NVMe Gen4 High Performance Read Intensive U.3, PM1753) and, in the Mainstream tier, P64846-B21 (3.84TB, 7,008 TB written, 6,200 MiB/s reads), both listed for Gen11 and Gen12.
When replacing a failed drive in an array, match P50956-001 where possible so the set stays on one drive model and firmware family.
To confirm fit, check that the bay has a U.3 TriMode or NVMe backplane, that the carrier is BC, and that the server's QuickSpecs list NVMe for that drive cage.
