QDD-400G-LR4-S is a Cisco 400G QSFP-DD optical module described as 400G-LR4, 10 km, duplex single-mode fibre, 100 percent compliant with 400GBASE-LR4-6. It follows IEEE 802.3cu (400GBASE-LR4-6, extended to 10 km) and the 100G Lambda MSA.
Four CWDM lanes run at 1270, 1290, 1310 and 1330 nm over duplex G.652 single-mode fibre, ending in a duplex LC PC/UPC connector. Average transmit power is -2.7 to 5.1 dBm per lane, average receive power is -9.0 to 5.1 dBm per lane, and maximum insertion loss is 6.3 dB. Maximum module power is 12 W, pre-FEC bit error ratio is 2.4 x 10^-4, and the laser is Class 1. The pull tab is blue.
Cisco lists the module at 10 km to another QDD-400G-LR4-S, at 2 km (4 dB) to QDD-400G-FR4-S, and at 6 km (6.3 dB) to a 400GBASE-LR4-6 port.
Against the 2 km QDD-400G-FR4-S, which shares the duplex LC CWDM design, the LR4-S has a higher insertion loss allowance, 6.3 dB against 4 dB. The QDD-400G-DR4-S is a parallel 500 m part with an MPO-12 APC connector and an orange pull tab.
Other optics are in the Cisco modules and optics category, including the SFP-10G-LR-S 10GBASE-LR SFP for 10 km links at 10G.
