Lenovo lists 4XB7A17087 (feature code B8J1) as the ThinkSystem 2.5-inch 5300 240GB Mainstream SATA 6Gb hot-swap SSD. It is the smallest Mainstream 5300 drive and uses Micron 96-layer 3D NAND behind a 6 Gbps SATA interface. Lenovo aims the Mainstream class at mixed read and write work such as cache in transactional applications and fast storage for enterprise databases.
The 240GB drive is rated for 5.0 drive writes per day, equal to 2,190 TB written, with 82,000 random read IOPS and 60,000 random write IOPS at 4 KB. Sequential speeds are 540 MBps read and 380 MBps write, sequential latency is 175 microseconds reading and 300 writing, and typical power is 2.5 W reading and 3.0 W writing. The MTTF is 3,000,000 hours and the drive has no SED encryption.
The range tops out at 3.84TB, which Lenovo rates at 3.5 drive writes per day and 24,528 TB written. The 5300 series is the follow-on to the 5200 line, with higher endurance and lower latency from 96-layer flash.
More Lenovo SSDs are in the Lenovo SSDs. The 480GB drive in this line is the ThinkSystem 2.5-inch 5300 480GB Mainstream SATA SSD, 4XB7A17088.
